Headshot sessions for IAMPRO
08 March, 2023
It was an especially calm Sunday and I packed up my strobes, a selection of canvas backdrops and a couple of cameras ( a canon 5D mark IV and a Sony A7Riii ) and set off to ArtsEd to shoot some headshots for the students of the country's leading online drama school IAMPRO. Sometimes I have to leave the safety of my headshot and portrait studio and head out in to the wilds to capture some headshots in a new environment. IAMPRO were holding an in-person training day at ArtsEd and they asked me to come in and capture some headshots for some of their students. The day was built around some excellent guests. From a lecture from the esteemed casting director Daniel Edwards to a chat with the wonderful playwright Roy Williams. There were also a number of acting workshops hosted by the unstoppable Niall Phillips. I set up in a little studio space and had mini 20 minute slots to take headshots. My headshot sessions normally last about two and a half hours so it was a challenge to truncate that in to such a small window but I managed it! I quite like the pressure and its amazing what you can get done in 20 mins. Multiple outfit changes, different backdrops and little changes of lighting enabled us to get some cool results. The whole day was run with great aplomb and it was awesome to be surrounded by so many artists from all walks of life all hungry to learn and grow. I can heartily recommend them if youre looking for some training that you can get from the comfort of your own home. Flame on.
